Balkan Civil Society Development Network (BCSDN) in partnership with Aprodev organized a workshop under the title "The Right to Be Heard: The EU Enlargement Policy and Civil Society in the Western Balkans". The workshop took place on 10th September, 2009 in Brussels. It was attended by 42 representatives of local CSOs from the Balkan region, European Commission, European Parliament, EU networks as well as national governments and inter-governmental organizations from the region.

The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina have shown resilience in the face of political leaders who have repeatedly failed them, and the international community must emulate that resilience and find a way of making the political system perform better, the High Representative and EU Special Representative, Valentin Inzko, said in a speech to diplomats in Vienna today.

The First Semi-annual Report "Monitoring of the BiH European integration process" was presented on 22 July 2009 at the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Report was prepared by the Foreign Policy Initiative of BiH as a part of the project "Monitoring of the European Integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

As part of the component "The media and communication," specifically the initiative "Local is primary" of the OSCE Mission in B&H, Vesta Radio will produce four radio programmes which will be based on real-life examples of ordinary people. The programmes will give a short description of the problem, then focus on the citizens' achievements and the benefits citizens gain from taking action in their communities, in cooperation with other communities or municipalities.
