According to students' opinion, corruption is a rather common occurrence in the enrolment Universities, especially evident in the parents' attempts to find 'connection' with professors in order to ensure that their child does not get rejected in the process. This has been found in the research done within the project 'Presenting the anticorruption measures at the universities in BiH'. The project is financed by the European Union, through the Instrument for pre-accession assistance (IPA 2008/2009) and realised by the Association Vesta Tuzla in cooperation with the Youth Communication Centre from Banja Luka.

Results of the research 'Analysing citizens' satisfaction with public services in Tuzla municipality', conducted by the Association Vesta, with support of the Centre for promotion of civil society, Sarajevo and BiH Open Society Fund, were presented in Municipality of Tuzla. The research is based on interviews undertaken with 1.217 households in 40 local communities in Tuzla municipality.

Civil society organisations, citizens and local authorities together towards better services

Results of the research 'Analysing citizens' satisfaction with public services in Zivinice municipality', conducted by the Association Vesta, with support of the Centre for promotion of civil society, Sarajevo and BiH Open Society Fund, were presented 12th July 2012 in the Municipality of Zivinice. The research is based on interviews undertaken with 859 households in 26 local communities in Zivinice municipality.

On Wednesday, 4th July 2012, the University of Banja Luka hosted Ambassadors and Embassies representatives from seven countries. During their visit, they were presented the projects related to/ aimed at anticorruption, in which the University took part together with the Association Vesta, Tuzla, Youth Communication Centre, Banja Luka and Centre for Civil Society Kyodo, Sarajevo.

Study visit to Sweden

The study visit to Sweden was realised in June 2012, within the ongoing project 'Strengthening civil society in gender equality policies at the local level in the countries of the Western Balkans, financed by the European Union and implemented by the partner organisations from Serbia, Montenegro and BiH (SeConS, Women's Action, EDA and VESTA), all in the framework of the Multi-IPA programme of cross-border cooperation. It was aimed at introduction to the Swedish policies of gender equality, gender mechanisms and gender mainstreaming (GM) at the levels of municipalities, regions and state policies.

The Association Vesta with partners, the Association Zemlja djece, Tuzla and the BiH Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, successfully realised 2,5-day training for CSOs in monitoring of the state Strategy for combating violence against children in BiH 2011-2015 and shadow reporting, convened in Sarajevo, on 11-13 June 2012.

''GEM research on women's entrepreneurship in BiH – a reliable basis for policy making for improvement of the position of women in business and in local community'' was the theme of the workshop organised by Vesta Association on Thursday, 7 June in Tuzla. The workshop was organised by the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation. It was intended for female representatives of political parties in Tuzla Municipality, with a view to support affirmation of women candidates in the upcoming elections. Introductory speach on the theme of GEM research was delieverdd by prof.dr. Bahrija Umihanić.
