Initiated public advocacy campaign for reducing xenophobic elements and discrimination in the areas of minority return

In the framework of the project "The media in the process of reintegration and sustainable return", a public advocacy campaign has been initiated for reducing xenophobic elements and discrimination in the areas of minority return. The public advocacy campaign, through which we wish to reduce xenophobic elements, will have a sensible approach and will acknowledge the political dimension of the problem. Moreover, the campaign will acknowledge the needs of minority returnees in the both entities, making this problem unique, even though there are differences between the entities.

The goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of xenophobic elements and discrimination, so as to give the minority returnees a surrounding where the elements of xenophobia and discrimination are partly eliminated and where the support of the local authority and the media and their wish to create surrounding which favors reintegration and reconciliation is more expressed.

The public advocacy campaign will promote the necessity of the joint solving of the problem of reintegration, no matter whether it is the Republic of Srpska or the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Especially sensitive is the issue of security of the minority returnees, hence, the realization of the campaign will lead to respect of the rights on privacy and freedom of movement.

All the activities of the campaign will be monitored via the media and available to the communities of minority return, as well as to other citizens.
